Say anything you want about him - stories or maybe observations. What’s your favourite fight and so on. Hip hip.
Amazing career, loved his fight against Gavilan. It sucks to see losses to heavyweights later on in his record, likely fought on for too long.
quality fighter. Happy birthday to him. Its been years since i have seen him though. Which fights would you say are his best filmed fights?
The highlights for Tiger Jones are pretty rough Tiger said it was his worst beating. Below is a great quality version of I believe the most competitive fight he had with Robinson. Not sure which number lol as they fought 4 times. EDIT: It’s fight 3! This content is protected
They shouldn't be held against such Fighters ANY Fight Win or Lose Against BIGGER Men only Add to One's Credibility as far as I'm concerned.
The amount of times he fought hall of fame worthy guys and kept going after defeat is pretty crazy, especially against Charles. Ray Robinson, Ezzard Charles 5 times!!! Jersey Joe Walcott 3 times, Archie Moore 3 times, Lloyd Marshall, jimmy Bivens, and Floyd Patterson
I wrote about this before. My dad knew "Bobo" Olson when they were kids growing up on the streets of Honolulu. When my dad would show me the old school boxing moves, he would imitate Sugar Ray Robinson and Bobo Olson in their fights. This was in the 80s before I had even seen clips of the Robinson vs. Olson fights on the Internet years later. My dad told me that before he picked up boxing, Olson was a tough street fighter back in the day. Also, my dad was really sad for him in the end because he got really punch drunk later in life. I think he is the best boxer to come out of Hawaii, considering all the great boxers that he fought. Happy Birthday, Carl "Bobo" Olson!
