Manos de Piedra turns 69 today.

A four-division champion spanning from 135 to 160 pounds while leaving the 140-pound opportunity on the table by bypassing the division.

Live long and prosper, El Cholo.

EDIT: Nice shout, I heard this on National Public Radio this morning while going to grab some breakfast.

One of my all-time favourites to watch, and IMO the best ever by a notable distance.

Happy birthday to a true great, as entertaining as he was accomplished. Few in boxing history have dared as much and succeeded as much, especially in the modern era.

A lot of Duran's most memorable career moments came either on or around his birthday:
June 26, 1972: beat Ken Buchanan to win his first world title
June 22, 1979: beat Carlos Palomino to become no. 1 contender to world welterweight title
June 20, 1980: beat Sugar Ray Leonard to win world welterweight title
June 16, 1983: beat Davey Moore to win world title in third weight class
June 15, 1984: got kayoed by Thomas Hearns
June 16, 2020: watch this space...
