I'm fairly new on here, enjoying it, gives me a new outlet whilst travelling away working , some great debate on here and clearly some good and sincere knowledge.Wonder how many guys on here actually been in a ring at least once ? Although it's not a pre cursor to boxing knowledge.
I seem to have been accepted as a newcomer with good grace and for that i thank you all.
I try to make my posts concise ,honest and without criticism or controversy.
Happy new year and fresh impetus to us all.

 

I hate the holidays. But I need to say that many people think of boxing as a sport of the past and i think they are right. But to paraphrase Faulkner the past is not dead- it isn't even past really. It's a part of us, something we love that helps us get through dark days or relax in troubled times. Other times it's just fun to watch a good fight or argue the fistic merits of a man who was born, lived, and died all before we ever drew a breath.

Either way let us not hope that boxing survives 2017 but that it thrives. Thanks guys and happy new year.
