Hmmm,to think about it, Ike Williams was said to be a hard puncher but his ko rate was around 48 percent-ish,any more fighters like these?

McLarnin with a 38% KO rate
Tiger with a 45% KO rate
Gavilan with a 25% KO rate
Charles with a 54% KO rate
Laporte with a 55% KO rate
Steele with a 44% KO rate

It's also a matter of opposition rather than pure KO power. I assure you someone like Wilder would not have a 97% rate if he were to face fighters of equal ability to the ones these men these guys had to, same with other fighters of his ilk.

Take a look at all the stories surrounding Burley’s power… and take a look at his results, style can make a “puncher” (same with your chin) if Ali went full Satterfield kamikaze bomber he could probably KO a bunch of guys he took the distance, the issue with that is Satterfield other problem… (look at his losses)

Word on the street was Ike may have fought with the cuffs on more than one occasion. They also didn't stop fights as quickly as they do now. Today its much different. One of his fights with Beau Jack it appeared Ike was on the verge of killing him and the referee wanted more.

Bob Satterfield and Curtis Sheppard won less than half of their fights by KO, but both could really crack.
