Well I dont know about that, but I dont think its amusing considering the fact that he was in solitary confiinement (23hrs a day in a cell by his lonesome during the week, and 48hrs for the weekend)for a f--king misdemeanor. Don't get me wrong, I have a daughter, so I do not respect any man putting their hands on a woman unless they literally had to defend themselves, but at the same token, I dont think that severe punishment, fit the alleged crime. As humans, we are social creatures (which is why the number one cause of depression is loneliness) and I dont care who you are, that type of isolation, is no joke.

Who's jacking off (except possibly MVC)? Hard work and dedication is a quote that Floyd likes to use. I don't think that by using Floyd's own quote, anyone is insinuating that he's the only hard worker in the sport or in life.

Not feeling recognized enough for the things you do in your own personal life? :think Just remember that you're in a boxing forum and maybe it'll take some of the sting away.

Because you have fatass guys like JCC Jr or Hatton who don't take training seriously and are lazy. Then you have guys like PBF Froch and Hopkins who are dedicated to the sport and pretty much stay in shape year round. It's a lifestyle that's what most people and some boxers don't get.

i totally get what the op is saying. but, u got to put yourselves in their shoes. riddick bowe use to have a kitchen next to his bedroom. i think it was holyfield who said it sure is hard to get up in the morning when u got silk underwear on with satin sheets on a comfortable bed. floyd dont have to do shite. he could get people to run errands for him all day. money gives u the power to make things easier for yourself. but, at the end of the day, it is u who has to get up and put in the work at the gym

Dude Please get over yourself Please !!! you and other home athletes act as thought you can do what these pro athletes . These pro athletes have dedicated their lives to do what they do. If you jumped in the ring with these guys you would more then likely get your ass served up .

Doing what they do is not easy, if that where the case more , every day average joe would be fighting.
It takes a special person to want to get in shape to take huge amounts punishment and not puke and **** themselves afterward.

A fighter that show up in shape, shows that he respects the sport, his opponent and the fans that pay to see them fight.

On that note, it's hard for the average American to get up in the morning and go to work but people do it everyday. Difference is, most people don't have the benefit of making enough money to have people cook for them, clean for them, run their errands, massage their back, and the countless other things that these athletes have the money to do. I imagine with millions of dollars it is hard to get up and want to exercise, but then again when you are paid an insane amount of money to fight once a year I'm not going to be impressed cause your in shape

What about when they come in overweight, cheap shot themselves to a victory, has a corner that almost ruins a fight, and was part of the reason the biggest fight ever never happened. Do you still think he deserves the praise he gets for being in shape and doing what he is paid to do? He deserves to be appreciated more then other people?

If a fighter comes in overweight then he will not last long, he will finds a new job as work out equipment.
As far as cheap shot goes, if you get in the ring with a pro fighter and cross the line be prepared and don't cry afterwards.

When fighter would foul haggler he made sure he fouled them back, and no one cried foul. Victor started fouling then started kissing WTF!!, he deserved to be 2 pieced in the mouth.
Floyd corner almost ruin the fight ? what about Zab ? he was getting his ass whooped and couldn't handle it and decided to foul to keep from getting KOed, then had the nerve to rabit punch after hitting floyd low , but yet this is floyd fault right ?

If fighter can't handle getting their ass whooped then they should just stay home.
If you don't like a fighter don't pay to see him fight, spend that money on your fighter of choice .
No one gave floyd a his titled he earned them like it or not he worked his ass off for it.
when he was a young and hungry fighter coming up the ranks no fighter wanted to see him except the late Corrales and then again no one wanted any part of him ether.

100% spot on. It's their JOB to be in shape. It's like a guy who goes to work on time thinking he is the best worker because he shows up on time. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE A WORK ON TIME!

IF YOU'RE A PRO FIGHTER YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE IN SHAPE!!!

Its hard as hell to train for a fight. Top level fights usually mean you have 2 train for 2-3 months. Waking up every morning to run 5,6,7 miles is tough. Not even counting the gym work. Takes a different type of dude to make boxing his profession. There is no off season in boxing like other sports.
