    Margarito is the bigger puncher.

Rios is the more technically defined fighter, who can throw more precise combinations.
Margarito is also a bigger puncher than Marquez, so there ya go.

Come on Kirk. Even Fernando Vargas is impressed with Rios. As is Andre Ward and a host of other boxers and experts.

Margarito was never a power puncher, He was a consistent puncher who had relentless pressure & great output that would wear down his opponents.

Rios is a better pure power puncher than Margarito.
What one has to do with the other I have no idea, They fight nothing alike.

Margarito was NOT a hard puncher without wraps so Rios by default.

    The question lacks qualifying definition.

Straight up, Margarito, as he is much bigger.

Pound for pound, in terms of 1-shot power, Rios.

Even though Pac will have fought both, you still won't be able to make a comparison apples to apples. If he says in an interview later that Margarito hit him harder, it probably felt that way because of the size difference. If he says Rios hit him harder, it's because Rios has more p4p power and mixes in bombs as opposed to just a high volume of heavy-handed arm punches. (although he does that as well)

Hard to tell....if we are talking p4p I'd give a slight edge to Rios but again we must not exclude the plaster of Paris caveat. Margo was a relentless pressure fighter he threw in high volume but he didn't have great concussive power because he always lacked true "snap" in his punches Brandon on occasion has shown that snap though they are few and far between. It's unfortunate that Margo will always have the asterisk next to his name because he had the will, determination and grit to be a great figure in boxing history but he was never very skilled and made up for it with his strengh....strengh that will forever be questioned.

It totally amazes me that you supposed boxing fans STYILL rag on about Tony Margarito and the supposed loaded gloves fiasco. This whole thing was started by that lying POS nazim Richardson when he falsely claimed blocks fell out of Margarito's wraps.
What happened to those imaginary blocks??Have you ever wondered ?
Even after extensive testing nothing dangerous was found only a used pad that was damp & had a brown stain & trace elements of sulpher and calcium on it. Both of these elements are found in hman sweat. At the most having a used pad & not a new one, was technically illegal but in no way shape or form was any benefit to Margarito or in any way dangerous to his opponent
Its time this bull**** was put to rest

You're imbuing Richardson with lots of power if you think everything hinged on his unsubstantiated word alone (even intimating that he was lying in the first place)

You really think Capetillo was banned simply because everyone said "Ok, Bro Naz, your word against theirs, but you seem like a swell guy, we'll take your word for it?"
