Two of Mexicos biggest punchers at BW. Who do you think was the harder, better puncher at their best weight?
Zarate on both accounts. Different level of operator. One thing I will say for Rafa', he has a better jab than his brother.
Did Zarate really hit harder than R. Marquez? I mean, Z-Machine is a better puncher/fighter, obviously. But he was closer to an accumulation type of puncher than a true one-punch knockout artist. I'd say Marquez hit at least as hard as Zarate as far as raw punching power is concerned.
I'm no expert on Zarate's opposition but I'm pretty sure that Addie (Zarate's biggest fan and a much more knowledgeable poster than both of us) said Amores was ****.
When I see a thread about who hits harder, I'm reminded of the story of the big game hunter in Africa who discovers an elephant hitting golf balls 500 yards straight as an arrow. With dreams of billions, he brings the elephant back to the states to set the PGA on fire. With the world watching, the elephant gets up at the first tee --500 yards, straight as a dye, right on the lip of the hole. He goes to tap it in, 500 yards, straight as a dye. Ya better have more in your arsenal than raw power, if you're gonna make it.
I think it's valid for those that have the power but don't now how to apply it. Of which there have been many!
