Tyson was more explosive. Once his explosiveness dissapated, post prison, I think Lennox may have hit slightly harder. Either way, it's an insignficant difference because both men had one punch knockout potential.
Lewis 1 punch is more powerful especially the 1-2 Jab uppercut or jab straight right Mike Tyson is the more crispier/sharper and accurate puncher, he hurts you with fast blitzing combination that has good power
Lewis. Tyson had power and quick hands but Lewis was extremely strong with good timing and his punches has a lot behind them. Compare the two and on the opponents they both faced.
Tyson, without a doubt. Take those pounds off Lewis, and his height advantage, nullifying his weight drop advantage, and the discrepancy becomes even more apparent. P4P, Tyson 4 times harder. Normal, Tyson twice as hard.
Neither. I have enclosed a list of heavyweights who not only have twice as much punching power, but also have better handspeed, technical skills, ring generalship, and mainstream appeal than Lewis and Tyson combined: Vladimir Tereshkin 13-0 Andrzej Wawrzyk 20-0 Mariusz Wach 23-0 Yakup Saglam 27-0 Andriy Rudenko 20-0 Alexey Soloviev 17-0 Kubrat Pulev 10-0
Lewis's straight right hand was harder than anything Tyson could throw. Tyson just had more punches that he could hurt you with.
WTF is your point? The question isn't about who was the hardest puncher in history or who had better handspeed or teqnical skill. It was who punches the hardest between 2 guys. How can the answer be neither?
Well, I felt the threadstarter would be more interested in the athletes on my list. I apologize if I was wrong. But if you must know, I feel Lewis had greater power. Tyson hit hard, but Lewis had many one-punch KOs against better opposition, such as when he knocked out Rahman. Tyson's power is somewhat overrated, especially considering his level of opposition compared to Lewis's opposition.
