Tyson is one of the most heavily muscled boxers of all time. 220lbs at 5'10 with little body fat.

Foreman..........Iron Mike himself doesn't even really think he is one of the hardest punchers (I still think he is though). He's named quite a few guys that he thinks are harder hitters than he was.

Maybe he's being self humbling.....but Foreman definitely hits harder. Foreman is probably the hardest hitter ever honestly (yeah harder than Shavers too)

Just look at what Tyson did to Golota in 2 rounds. He gave him a concussion, a fractured left cheekbone and a herniated disc. This is the same Golota who took several haymakers from Bowe.

    Tyson had serious power.

Would you say Tyson is more like Pacquiao and Foreman is more like Marquez? Many people said the thing about Pac was you did not see his punch at all.

Way more than almost any other HW that gets touted as a harder puncher than him. I think only Wilder or maybe Tua have comparable numbers.

Well a bit of an overstatement, but not too far off.
I suspect the 5'10.5" was most plausible, a tiny difference-compared to other HWs & his mass he looked even shorter.
And 214-221.5 in everything that covers his prime.

I had debated a long time ago re: his body fat%, said 8-10%, it might have been 10-12%, but no more.
    Either way low.
For his height he was near the biggest at least World Class boxers...
Take Frank Bruno, showed up for a Tyson fight a chiseled 247 lbs...
Bigger upper body, but given Tyson's lower body mass & the actual heights, Tyson was about as big.

And these boys were as muscular as most any successful later SHW you care to name...
IF you compensate for height & body fat, that is, lean muscle mass per lbs.!
But Primo Carnera got there the better part of 100 years ago absent any real (or the existence of modern) weight training

I dunno..........while I do think Tua is up there in the rafters of the hardest hitters in history, I don't personally think Tua hits harder than Foreman. I do think he hits harder than Tyson.

Yes Carnera was a beast, he was definitely not on steroids either. I have my doubts about the likes of Tyson and Bruno. Most boxers Tyson's height weigh 150-180lbs not 220lbs.

Foreman, and it's not even close. Tyson himself said he wasn't that big of a puncher but he relied on volume and speed with his punches.

Yes historically, but there have been more boxers bulkier for decades due to not just PEDs...But weight training & nutrition.
Hell you know that decades before either was even

Oh one more point-Carnera fought the vast majority of his bouts before steroids were even invented, & early in his career was as heavy as a little under 285 lbs-he was coming from being a strongman...He had a kind of gigantism possessed a massive bone structure, ate little was hungry as a child...

There will always be outliers & we must be careful not to assume guilt...
Even when some ordinary looking people use various PEDs!
