A bit surprised here its a landslide vote for Hearns? Close for me but Arguello considering both gloves.. He had that power in the left .. Tommy had really fast hands and had that snap.. But his left hook to the body didn't really fully develop until he went up in weight and was able to settle in and get full leverage behind it imo. Unlike SRL , who always had incredible left hook power to the body, his best punch imo, as Mayweather Sr. found out and Hearns shortly after that.. And for Arguello always was there as others have mentioned. But Tommy's right wins vs Alexis rt imo.. overall tho, Arguello very close ...

I agree with this which ultimately swayed me towards Alexis

I've taken Hearns because his right hand is the hardest punch of the two, P4P, making him the harder P4P puncher.

If we took the question as taking both hands into account overall then it's a more open ended question IMO and favoring Arguello sure wouldn't be out of the question.

As an example, lets make believe with some actual ROUGH numbers based on power.

    Hearns right hand...10-10
    Hearns left hand.....7.5-10

    Arguello right hand...9-10
    Arguello left hand.....9-10

These are rough numbers showing Hearns to have the single hardest punch with Arguello more power via both hands combined.

Hard to say really. Tommy was more explosive and faster but Arguello had the pin point timing.
Mancini like him or not had a very good chin and Arguello almost took his head off.
I thought Arguello killed Rooney when he nailed him with that right-hand.
A past his prime Arguello was getting Outboxed by Costello but changed the fight with one punch.

Duran had a great chin but Tommy just crushed him.
Cuevas too was known for his ability to take punishment but Tommy crushed him in 2.

I would give the edge to Hearns because he carried his power all the way up past lightheavy.

    But both were great punchers.
