somebodys just mentioned shavers gloves splitting open lol you couldnt make it up mate its mental the fella made a thread saying tommy morrison and some others would destroy zhang i mean that is ridiculous
This is how everyone was delighted (including me) with Joyce, who knocked out an iron jawed fighter like Parker. But I saw that I was wrong... and admitted my mistake. I give Zhang credit for being the "most frequent" heavyweight, because he had 3 fights with TOP 10 opponents in 13 months.
Yes because I give examples. Ali bullied small men. Usyk fools big men. To be small In the super heavy weight division is alot different than to be big in the old cruiser tweener division. You dont want to look at facts. Go visit the heavy weight blog and see how much worse Ali was against bigger men - backed up by stats. He was outboxed by Kenny F Norton at times... Do you believe Usyk would be outboxed by him?! Frazier was a tiny HW with very high BF% just look at them together: https://robertedwardauctions.com/auction/2016/spring/1707/1975-muhammad-ali-joe-frazier-signed-magazine-centerfold#&gid=1&pid=1 They both were fat at 220...
You have proven time and again how ignorant you are. You can post facts, but you never apply context or allow for circumstances. Now have I claimed that modern fighters are terrible, and that Ali would easily have beaten anyone in his prime? No. I haven’t said anything like that. My point is very simple: Any truly great fighters of any era, would find mixed success in any era, depending on who they fought. Great fighters are great fighters. However, styles makes fights. So Ali would not be able to dominate everyone. But guess what? There’s no HW in history, which includes Usyk, who would be able to dominate everyone. If you had a prime Mike Tyson and you got him to fight all of the greats, he’d cause a stir, until he came up against a guy who was his stylistic nemesis. And the same applies to Lewis, Louis and The K Bros etc. The glaring difference between me and you, is that if you’re not a troll, you have no understanding of styles etc. You just ignorantly assume that everything is better. Which it isn’t. Just look at today’s top 10 HW’s. There’s a number of HW’s of the past who’d destroy most of today’s guys. Now you have said that Ali couldn’t even have competed today. Which is utterly ridiculous. He had amazing hand speed. Amazing foot speed. Great reflexes. A highly unorthodox style. And great accuracy, great timing, with a great chin and the heart of a lion. He also has a proven resume. So he would absolutely have been able to have competed today, against these modern HW’s, and especially as the division is weak apart from only a handful of real quality fighters. No, Usyk hasn’t been clowning HW’s. He had a tough fight against Chisora, he did great against AJ, but he’s just looked less than spectacular against a guy who’s a European level fighter. Do I think that Usyk would have struggled against Ken Norton? No. However, Do I think that Ali would have struggled against Mairis Breidis? No. Again, styles make fights. Again, you’re either a troll or an ignoramus. Usyk beats guys on his skills and his attributes, and not on power and size. And Chris Byrd also did the same. So if they could have success, then Ali could too. Now if you look at the current top 10, and you honestly believe that Ali couldn’t even have competed with them, then please don’t even reply. I’m not going to lose any brain cells talking with an absolute simpleton who has no knowledge or concept of anything.
TBH I actually think Ken Norton would give Usyk alot of problems, punchers seemed to trouble Norton not boxers. If Norton can go over 50+ very competitive rounds against two top 5 ATG Heavyweights in Holmes, Ali, then he can definitely push Usyk. Norton had great conditioning was a good pressure fighter good body puncher which Usyk is vulnerable to. Not too mention Norton is a good sized Heavyweight at 6'3 220 pounds. Usyk doesn't have the power to deter Norton who would be pressuring Usyk all the way until the final bell very tough match up.
You're an idiot but that's not surprising considering you think Hughie Fury is a better version of Muhammad Ali, what an embarrassing comment you should hang your head in shame for such a moronic statement. Usyk has beaten one good Heavyweight who is mentally shot after getting beat up by a 6'0 obese Andy Ruiz. Ali beat numerous fighters of 6'3 who weighed 220 pounds not sure where you're getting this silly "Cruiserweight" argument from. Ron Lyle George Foreman Ken Norton Buster Mathis Ernie Terrell Joe Bugner Chuck Wepner Alvin Lewis That's 8 fighters Ali beat who were 6'3 and above. And even fighters like Cleveland Williams who was 211 pounds and Sonny Liston who was 218 pounds. Oh an guess what Andy Ruiz who only has a 74 inch reach is shorter than Ali and is a fat slob, somehow destroyed Super Heavyweight Anthony Joshua. So much for your argument that "Bigger is better".
The popularisation of the concept of “P4P” has made folk lose sight of the realities of boxing. Weight divisions exist for a reason, because big guys hit harder than little guys. I agree PAPA ZHANGO hits harder than shavers, as he should since he probably outweighs him by fifty plus pounds. Just like Fury is going to bully USKY and punch a hole right through the middle of him. Wilder is an outlier with that ancestral touch of death power. Once in a generation.
Exactly, it's about quality of opposition. The clowns that repeat the fallacy size argument can't get around the lack of quality opposition.. The likes of Fury were dropped by a cruiser, yeah he went on to win but to assume he would automatically win against the biggest punchers is false. It's why I never rated Wilder, lack of top 10 opposition. A decent puncher can look spectacular if they only fight bums.
Great post. He could very well have caused him issues. Daniel Dubois has just caused him some issues. Look at the mess the sport is in at the moment. Two WBA champions facing off against each other. Dubois and Warren actually celebrating and promoting Dubois as a world champion, when he’s European level and Usyk held the main version of the belt. An absolute joke.
This content is protected Here's Andy Ruiz standing next to 5'8 Terence Crawford he's no more than 5'11-6'0. But yeah a short 60 pound overweight obese fighter with a shorter reach than most of the ATG's Heavyweights of the 70s 80s, 90s, who destroyed Anthony Joshua and is among the top rated Heavyweights in the world. But oh yeah fighters like Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, etc can't compete silly me. Also how about the fact Fury got floored by two fighters of 6'3 in Pajkic who was an unknown with only 4 stoppages, and Steve Cunningham who moved up from Cruiserweight. It's like people don't understand boxing at all i just don't get how people can have such low IQ's.
Boxing is by far the most nostaglic sport out there. Zhang punches a lot harder, Zhang has like 70 lbs on him and hes KOing 250+ guys
I'm seeing a lot of really stupid posts. Apparently simply weighing more is an indication one boxer hits a lot harder than another. Yet they will dismiss boxers like Primo Carnera who was huge and KOd other big men. By their logic, Primo should hit harder than Frazier, Tyson, etc.
