For one shot put you asleep power , Julian Jackson at 154. in matchups though McCellan would have killed Hearns at 160

All of them have power to hurt people for sure and lash out some damage but Jackson had magical power

Any answer that's not Jackson is the wrong answer.

And Golovkin is dead last. He has more thudding, wear you down type power than snapping, concussive power.

Kelly Pavlik had more power than Golovkin.

different kinds of power. Jackson had more that one punch out of the blue power you don't see too much. McClelland was more like GGG. Hearns was fast and lanky and had technique, and GGG overtakes guys and his momentum takes over.. Very different. GGG is a little like Foreman I would say.

Golovkin is actually closer to Chavez than Foreman.

Foreman is a top 10 all time puncher in history.

Golovkin probably isn't even a top 10 puncher in middleweight history.

I can see where both you guys are coming from- I think GGG, Foreman, and Chavez were similar in having that kind of heavy handed, thudding power where everything hurt. They could one shot you, but that usually wasn't their game.

Jackson and Hearns were the pure explosion kind of power punchers. Not really the kind of power that wears you down over 12 or 15 like the first group, but it can be lights out at any point. G-man fits somewhere in between, but closer to the first group IMO.

Also, its a bit of a ringer to include Big George with the classes that had weight limits. Imagine how much more brutal the highlight reel gets if Chavez or GGG had a 10-20 lb weight advantage (or more) like Foreman tended to enjoy.

As for the OP, Jackson's number 1 for me. Looking at the reactions of the guys he nailed, it's a miracle he didn't kill anyone in the ring.

Chavez and Golovkin are NOT in the same power class as Foreman.

Foreman had devastating, render you unconscious type power.

Chavez/Golov are the heavy handed, every punch hurts type. Golovkin P4P is has more pop than Chavez, but it equals out because Chavez was a lot more accurate, and worked the body far more effectively.

Brook took the same body hook that folded Macklin in half in round one and it had no effect on him
