Probably not, but what I'm saying is that if you give Chavez or GGG a 15 pound advantage for most of their fights, they'd have more one shots to their name. Foreman had the benefit of being a legendary puncher and having a size advantage for most of his fights. He should look more devastating on film.

Hearns had great power, but something he turned to later when his speed started to slow was his body punching. He became a great left hook to the bodypuncher. Hurt Barkley and Leonard and most guys he fought. Hagler said he had a great left hook to the body. Had he worked the body more in fights, he could have really wore guys out. But he loved knocking guys out and making an exciting fight.

Of that bunch only GGG has elite boxing skills to go with the power. That's the REAL difference separating them. Gggs technical expertise and boxing skills.

you don't know much about the career of Hearns then. He knocked out punchers Duran and Cuevas, and knocking out Duran takes skill not just power. And then Hearns outboxed Benitez at 154 to win the title going 15 rounds... and then 21 pounds later and 9 years outboxed the boxer another HOF fighter Virgil Hill over 12 rounds. He outboxed the great Benitez at Wilfred's I think best weight and outboxed Hill. who had 10 title defenses and was undefeated at 175. When did GGG move up 30 pounds and beat a young champion by boxing him? 11 years after he won his first title? When did GGG fight real legends? And Tommy drew with Ray Leonard, when he should have had a win. I don't understand how GGG has anymore technical expertise or boxing skills than Hearns. Hearns moved up and proved more than GGG ever could.

In a sport like boxing it's very hard to talk in terms of absolutes. But not when it comes to jj. Ib 4 lb jj was the hardest hitter I've ever seen.

saying GGG has more skills and expertise was surprising. Hearns lost in fights only to greats Leonard and Hagler. In his prime. But his wins. Take away this losses and his wins are top notch. GGG has not had the wins Hearns had.

At MW? I'd say in order

    Jackson
    McClellan
    Golovkin
    Hearns

Of course Hearns is 2 divisions higher from
his best, most concussively punching weight.

Re: my order, Golovkin hits hard, very hard, but it's
thudding dull blows that break you down into
nothingness, McClellan was obliterating guys, and Jackson, quite
frankly is probably one of the 5 hardest punchers in
    history regardless of weight.

Jackson was the ultimate one punch knockout artist. All the others are easier to define. Hearns or Foreman or GGG make sense, but Jackson is more mysterious. Some punches his opponents take and then he lands a punch which makes a guy out for minutes. The Herol Graham knockout or Norris. Or Drayton. And he knew when they were out.. With the other punchers, as great as they were you could see the knockouts coming, but not with Jackson. So he is unique. Almost scary the way he knocks guys out. I would hate to be the cornerman of the guy he was fighting. That would be too much stress. I would say just box and box and don't exchange.

Boxers of equal size have the same raw power, very few can translate raw power into effective punching...Being a Puncher is a diff way of fighting, it doesn't mean lack of skills albeit the pure boxers are closer to the core of boxing
