Pretty much. The problem is that the only top 10 guy he fought he went the distance with. His power perhaps still isn't proven enough at the top level.

From the looks of it I would say Ortiz has the hardest 1 punch but Joshua is the best puncher right now. Wlad's timing is off too much, he's not that good anymore.

Parker hits hard but his speed and combinations is what knocks people out. Parker can throw long fast combinations with extreme snap, best I seen a heavyweight do.

I have a friend/sparring partner that sparred with both Wlad and Parker, Wlad is more powerful but Parker is faster according to him, Parker did also beat him up worse.

No, but my point was you can be a great puncher without necessarily having amazing snap or technique, and with Ortiz it's only really his speed which lets him down.

Lots of people have been knocked out by lower-tier guys that went on to last the distance with superior punching opponents. Sanders, Morrison and Stiverne spring to mind. A single knockout isn't a definite indication of a fighter's chin level since so many other factors come into play on the night.

I can imagine that. Parker might not have really great one punch knockout power but he punches with such speed and explosiveness that he can deliver a series of stunning shots in seconds. Must be a nightmare to face in sparring.

You are right, but someone as low as Cojanu should really be stopped by Parker. It was more of an example tbh. It's no coincidence that once Parker stepped up in quality, he has failed to stop opponents as often.

I agree he should have, and it's quite telling that he wasn't even able to rock Cojanu, but it also looked like after his first few attacks didn't bear fruit he was just content to sit back and pile up the points. I think the Hughie Fury situation really messed with his motivation levels and fighting a sparring partner probably didn't bring out the best in him either so I'm willing to cut him some slack there. He rocked Takam who's got an iron jaw, and we don't really know how good Ruiz's jaw is at the moment but he's never been stopped or dropped to my knowledge so it's clearly not glass.

If Parker fails to put a dent in a guy with known punch resistance issues I think we can draw more definite conclusions, but until then I think it's only fair to give him the benefit of the doubt before putting him in the non-puncher category, as a lot of people now seem to be doing.

Yeah, a couple more fights against decent opposition should tell us all we need to know about his power.

Wladimir Klitschko hits possibly harder than Anthony Joshua but AJ has better combination punching and better timing and accuracy therefore he is the better and more dangerous puncher in my opinion.

    1. Anthony Joshua
    2. Wladimir Klitschko
    3. Deontay Wilder
    4. Luis Ortiz
    5. Alexander Povetkin

I think those guys are the top 5 most dangerous punchers in the heavyweight division.

I like your ranking and reasoning of the most dangerous punchers in the division. However, I need to point out that this poll is based on outright, one punch knockout power, and in that case you may need to reconsider your choice.

Wlad for the 1 shot knock out power, Hes got that real man strength.

AJ for the most destructive combination power.

The guy with the best one punch knockout power is probably Wlad Klitschko but we don't know it for sure because it has a lot to do with fighting style but considering all the video evidence that we have at the moment he has the best one punch knockout power.
