When you think about the top 10 or so bangers in the current light-heavyweight division, what are the names you come up with?

Kovalev is by far the best finisher at 175, he has the most powerful jab too.

I thought the question was all time, I was about to chime in with Bob Foster.

    Currently, I'd say Beterbiev.

Kov has lost some of the concussive snap he had years ago.

    Yarde, Betterbiev, Buatsi,

Beterbiev is so snappy and fast, he is a big threat,

How do you compare Yarde's and Buatsi's power? I haven't seen a ton of both but Yarde looks like the harder puncher. Buatsi looks better schooled, however.

Yarde and Buatsi haven't fought at a high enough level to stake a claim.

Callum Johnson is a banger though and has hurt solid opponents at every level.

I think that is a fair assssment, Buatsi has power but its more the way he lands it so well.

Yarde is just a physical power house somewhere between 175 and 200. He is likely the stronger man/puncher but won't matter if you can't land it well enough.

    Beterbiev
    Kovalev
    Callum Johnson
    Joe Smith Jr.

Adonis would obviously be top 3 at worst if he was still fighting now

I like Beterbiev (13kos 13 wins), Joe smith Jr. can crack, Marcus Browne is a good puncher and KOvalev (see what I did there) is definitely a hard puncher

I agree with criticism of Yarde, but one thing he does seem to really have is power.

Beterbiev, Yarde, and Johnson for me.

Gvozdyk is a huge puncher but doesn't always show it for some reason. Kovalev used to have p4p power but his power has decreased recently I think, the old Kovalev would have destroyed Alvarez in 5 rounds.
