Tyson relly had only a few inchs over Marciano. Not that big of a gap. Reach with these 3 fighting each other would be of no use in these inside fights. It would be who can do and take more damage than the other.

I think Rock started getting to Walcott by round 3, Than went on and started winning rounds 3. 4, 5?? and 6, until Marciano got blinded which turn the flow back to Walcott. Marciano nail Walcott with some power shots before round 13.

 

He truly is something special. His punching is perfect and the way he delivers that destruction methodically, almost with cold calculation. I much prefer that to Tyson's and Duran's snarling viciousness - even though they of course also are great vessells of havoc.

But concerning Louis's footwork, I don't think he seems to have been very good at cutting the ring off. Walcott and Conn both make him follow them in too straight a line. Foreman, who's technically inferior in just about every other aspect, did this a lot better I would say. I would give him a good chance of destroying both Walcott and Conn within 1-2 rounds.

 

Is it even theoreticaly possible for me to be underrating Louis, unless he discovered a cure for cancer which was somehow lost?

 

I agree. Liston would probably be my nr. 2 of those showed there (in terms of how good he looked), but there is some distance.

 

Liston had the best left I've ever seen. If I was to make a Frankstein's monster of a boxer, I know whose left arm I'd be sewing on.
