    Thats a very hard quistion becuase the heavyweights at the 20 & 30 would proberly be equal in skill however they do seem alot smaller then our heavyweights today.

    But I personally dont think you can compare the different boxing Era´s like that.

    We all know the huge improvement sport science has made the last 100 years, so it isnt really fair for the 1920-40 fighters.

    But Joe Louis is ofc an all time great and more importantly he was African American and that was a very dangerious time for African american in the 1920-40. think about it an African american beating up a white dude with mob ties.. ouch talk about balls

    Hard to look past Big George. He's a H2H nightmare as well. Kind of like the Hearns of the heavyweights.

    See I think he was one of the hardest hitting heavyweights and that's why I included him but I also think he was knocking out smaller heavyweights in his prime that he could physically overpower. If he was knocking out guys like Bruno or Rudducks size than I'd be more impressed.

    As for flat-out 'One-Punch' Only guys;

    The list would be somewhat condensed.
    * Mike Tyson
    * Earnie Shavers
    * Lennox Lewis
    * George Foreman

    Don't think anybody else was as dominant as these (4) for 'one-punch' Knock-outs.

    I go with Tyson. His physical strength, combined with his amazing speed and technique made his KO power that much more effective. Cause he had the good, and could deliver the goods.

    It's funny that I see people vote for Lewis, But Tyson said Rudduck was the hardest hitting guy that ever hit him till this day. Could it be that Rudduck is the most underrated puncher in history?

  10. ron lyle was as strong as ruddock and bruno if not stronger. foreman knocked out guys who weighed 235 and 245 pounds in his prime.

    funny because even tyson said "foreman and shavers were killers and they did hit much harder than i"

    it is not even debatable , tyson was more accurate, more skilled and faster, but george foreman was harder puncher,stronger, he had much more strength, foreman was a brute, he had heavier hands and he was harder puncher, no doubt.

    Yeah I think Buddy Bear was the only big heavyweight Louis fought and knocked out.

    Big George was a real Strong guy but that still doesn't mean that he hits harder. And Tyson is gonna say that they hit harder because they came before he did, just as Micheal Jordan would probably say Dr. J was a better ball player than him.

    Who the heck is gonna be bigger or the same size as him though, really. lol That argument is kind of dead in a heavyweight context.

    This is the reason he's a H2H nightmare, he knocks out anyone who's shorter, not necessarily smaller in terms of weight. He had the most insane natural power out of all the heavyweights and no way you could go to him as he brought his punches up brilliently.

    I think people like Tyson knocked over more stiffs.

  14. and lennox lewis is not even top 5.

    Boxinginsider.com: You are renowned for being able to take a big punch. Who was the hardest puncher you faced?

    Oliver McCall: “Bert Cooper. Left hook. That was the hardest punch that I ever felt and that I had to overcome. It felt like a truck had hit me. I never got hit by a truck but it felt like if a truck would have hit me.”

    Boxinginsider.com: Who else was up there? Lennox?

    Oliver McCall: “No, Lennox wasn’t one of the hardest punchers that I – Buster Douglas hit me harder than Lennox did. Right hand.”

    Boxinginsider.com: How about Tyson? He has to be up there?

    Oliver McCall: “Tyson’s right there too. Lennox would probably be about fifth

    evander holyfield faced old foreman,lewis,tyson,bowe,bert cooper,tua was his sparring partner and he said that foreman was the hardest puncher than he faced ever.

    and it is an article

    "Back in October of 1974, many respected boxing historians and ex-world champions said that they believed that George Foreman was the strongest and hardest punching heavyweight champion in boxing history – something that is endorsed by many even to this day. Former heavyweight greats Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis, who both knew a thing or two about punching, agreed that Foreman was the most powerful heavyweight they had ever seen."

    dempsey and louis saw baer,marciano,liston,shavers...

    Prime Tyson hit harder than any man who ever boxed, he put Holmes into a coma.
