Well it's subjective but it's nice to discuss. That's a suprise about Lennox though, I thought he would say Lewis did hit hard.

  3. really foreman was stronger and did hit harder. the common rivals said that foreman was harder puncher.
and i have eyes... obviously foreman was more powerful in his shots. the hitting power of tyson was because he was fast.

 There were heavyweights that hit harder. Hell, an under trained, two years retired 38 year old Larry Holmes got up several times before the last shot Tyson put him down with. Holmes himself said Tyson's punches were sharp and explosive but that Shavers actually hit harder.

Ali says it was Shavers, and thats good enough for me.
The guy who got hit by Liston and Foreman as well as Earnie
    ought to know.

Damn I forgot Sonny Liston. How do you guys think Listons power rates? I've heard Listons jab was the hardest.

Well no, Tyson still had power when he loss his speed, but the speed is what made him hit even harder, and hitting power has a lot to do with speed more than just brute strength.

  8. well... buster douglas knocked tyson out and quary was better than douglas was ever.
we are talking on hitting power not about who had the best chin or who was the best boxer

Tyson is the only one to KO Holmes too, till this day and Holmes always got up from knockdowns, he was very resislent.

I thought Ali said Henry Cooper hit him the hardest--he knocked him down back in the 60's.
How can Shavers hit harder, I don't think he Ali down, did he?

It's true, Quarry ran him over, and Earnie wasn't an all around fighter.
All Shavers could really do is punch.
But he probably did that better than anyone else on the list.

A in shape Douglas was a lot better than Quarry IMO, but that's whole other debate. And douglas knocked Tyson out with attrition, he didn't just do it with one punch.

    Check this out,

There once was a fighter by the name of Jeff Shellburg.
They measured the force of his punch, and based on the studies he
hit harder than anyone else ever tested.

Unfortunately, he was not the quickest of hands.
As much as I hate to admit it, based on quickness, power and 'one-punch' destruction, it has to be TYSON.

I think Holmes said Cooney hit the hardest...yet Cooney didn't knock him down..:huh

  15. yes, but with speed or without speed foreman was harder puncher and stronger. the facts, the %ko and the testimonies of the common rivals talk
