Not to that extent. Bum or not, he took him out in spectaclar fashion and he was huge. Tyson would also destroy and knockout the primo carnera and Buddy bear in the first round and most on that list would too.

Scaff wasn't quite on the level of Baer or Carnera, so let's not go overboard...

Also, Tyson may or may not KO these guys in one round. Carnera I doubt. If Max Baer and Louis couldn't, Tyson might have trouble, too-

So what's the point? Shall I take my turn and say Louis would have KO'd Scaff in less than a round and KO'd Bruno, too?

All these guys were hard punchers and fast starters...

You said Scaff was a bum but that wasn't the point I was making, because it was about big superheavys. And Tyson would knock out Carnera in the first round.

And my point was that noone on the list, except for Lewis and Klitschko, have consistently fought a super-heavy type guy... Louis fought just as many bigger guys as Foreman and Tyson and Shavers...

And its strictly your opinion as to whether Tyson would KO Carnera in the first... I just say you can't be too sure because Carnera got up a hell of a lot when he was knocked down. He may get knocked down in the first round 6 times by Tyson and get up every time and survive til the second round... How do you know? We have to go off of what we know. What actually happened.

As far one shot Ko power, I think Earnie Shavers take this.

Tyson gets you hurt, he's finishing you, he's also one of the best finishers in heavyweight history. And as great Louis was, the heavyweights back than were much smaller heavyweights. Louis was a great fighter and he would be competitive in any era.

The poll is hardest hitting people. "best puncher" is NOT the same as HARDEST PUNCHER. Tyson was a much better puncher than Big George (more accurate, better speed, better combinations to the head and body etc) but George his MUCH harder than Tyson. Watch their fights folks and don't just nuthug because you think Tyson is cool.

Also, those who put Vlad down need to start calling themselves "Vlad fans" and not "boxing fans". He's the best heavy nowadays by far and he's huge and very built, but he (or Vit) doesn't really have very heavy hands. His KOs are all deep into fights when his opponents are exhausted, set up by tons of pawing jabs where he catches guys with blind punches and puts them out. NOT the same thing as, say, what George did to Frazier x2 or Ken Norton.

Well I should of put Liston but To me Wlad is a big hitter and a superheavyweight at that. I never said he was the hardest hitting guy but I think he should get mentioned in the top 10.

An interesting fact about Earnie Shavers was he was just 6'0 210. Shavers was in good shape but wasn't that muscular and to generate that type of power was impressive. Remember George in his first and second boxing boxer career didn't won't to fight him and neither did a 1986 version of Tyson. Most HW has Shavers either 1 or 2 as the hardest puncher ever.

It would of been nothing to gain for Tyson to fight him in 86 if he beat him, they would said he was old and Shavers had already been knocked out and beatin many of times. And being muscular don't have nothing to do with hitting power.

I would agree. But Shavers was still a major risk with his hitting power. I also agree with you that a boxers body does not matter either.

Earnie Shavers. Larry Holmes is the only man that fought Tyson and Shavers and he testifies to Shavers' power.
