Hardest HW classic puncher

    Gotta put in a word for Max Baer here! :D He may not be number one, but he's in the top ten for sure, arguably top five.

    I consider Shavers the hardest puncher of all time, but I do agree that Maxie may have been the hardest punching heavyweight champion of all time.

    While his right hand gets a great deal of attention, he also displayed a heavy jab against Schmeling, and battered a wincing Joe Louis against the ropes in round one with his left hook. Gene Tunney thought the first right hand he decked Carnera with was one of the three hardest scoring blows in the first half of the century. (What does it say for Carnera that he rose up from it?)
