Hardest Knockout to watch (that didn't end in tradegy)

Seeing a completey compos mentis fighter caught and KO'd with 1 massive punch, e.g. Jackson vs Graham and Martinez vs Williams, isn't hard watching for me.

Watching a clearly out on their feet, defenseless fighter getting hammered is something I can find disturbing, e.g. Ingo vs Machen, Cooney vs Norton, Mercer vs Morrison and Tua vs Ruiz.

 

This one has always been pretty bad to watch mostly because of poor refereeing. Almost like Ike Williams vs Beau Jack.

Seeing an incredibly tough Pinklon Thomas being hammered with some of Tyson’s best and most brutal punches before going down has always been difficult to watch since I first saw it.

Recently, Tszyu KO Harrison....I have no idea what the official was doing. Harrison was dead on his feet and not fighting back as Tszyu landed at least 15 clean shots on a guy who had stopped defending himself.

 

David Tua vs izon, good fight, everything was there from Tua, ko in the thelvthe round.

Mayorga vs Cotto: it appeared like Mayorga broke his collarbone. He submitted to the ref, it woulda been a mess had Cotto finished him off as he was injured badly to what? Idk...hidden or not talked about injury he sustained.

Clifford Etienne vs fres Oquendo, fres really performed on the big stage that night. I think it was something like 3 consecutive kds. In between rounds I believe Clifford was complaining that his legs weren't under him; his corner retorted "then don't use your legs" talk about leaving your fighter in grave danger/ peril.

Toney vs Robinson: I believe this was the end of an era, where starting from here, toney started his atg heavier division run(s). Note: this fight was at cruiserweight but before greatness, next few fights being Vasily jirov one of them if not right away after.

Tua Moorer: he fell asleep on the ropes! Manny rest in peace, was highly perturbed by this ko, as Lampley questioned how hurt he was over the melee, knowing the two were very very close.

Wilder spilzka, arturz actually physically died for a moment, scarey stuff. This is where all that catch a body bs started, low class from Wilder. Albeit he has since grown a heart so it seems.

 

The Duran-Bizzarro fight holds a strange place in my life. My brother, who is 12 years younger than I am, wanted to know why I liked boxing so much. The Duran-Bizzarro fight was the following weekend and I thought watching the talented, vicious, relentless Duran would be a great introduction for him.

The thing is that the Bizzarro fight was a dull fight other than the big moments when Duran got to the American. Bizzarro spent the fight running away from the Hands of Stone and my seven year old brother was bored. He was right. It was a tedious fight to watch. Finally, Bizzarro started to slow down and Duran put it to him. He put Bizzarro on his butt twice in the tenth and finished him in the 14th.

Even by 1970s standards, when referees let the man go on if he could still stand, the 14th round was scary. Bizzarro was wobbly and out of it and it was obvious the fight should have been stopped. It wasn't stopped and the final knockout was frightening. Bizzarro was out before he hit the canvas and his leg folded under him. It was awful to watch.

I had chosen a monotonous and then scarily violent fight for a seven year old to watch and instead of hating boxing he became a fan for life. You just never know how things will work out.

 

The way the ringside doc just dropped his head on the canvas was almost as as the KO itself.

 

Came here to say Mercer KO Morrison. Far out it seemed to go on for way too long

 

You guys need to check out the 15th round of the first fight between Oscar Albarado and Koichi Wajima. Wajima had 2 eyes swollen shut, and bleeding from the ear and nose before the round even began. Today he wouldn't have been allowed out of his corner, but he took 3 severe knockdowns before the ref finally stopped it. Even his corner wouldn't stop it. That round is hard to watch because he was out for awhile after the stoppage.

 

Shaun George obliterating and destroying a on his last legs LHW Chris Byrd. Chris Byrd who was known for standing up to 240 lb behemoths was chicken legged.........staggered...........and bounced up and down by Shaun George who then proceeded to celebrate like he won the world title after beating Byrd. That really pissed me off. Very sad

Honorable mention:
Courtney Burton knocking out Angel Manfredy: he was destroyed and melted and you just know a prime Manfredy nothing like that would've ever happened...........it was just sad

I was thinking the same. Even Herol has said that a lot of his mental health issues could have been caused due to that one right hand from Julian. It was the most completely brutal clean one punch knockout from a fighter seconds away from certain defeat. Out for was it it 10 minutes?

 

Ingemar Johansson vs Eddie Machen, another case of refs being... interesting with their decisions.
