I think I more or less agreed with this already. Against high-caliber opposition, Cotto will break guys down putting in work over several rounds. Cintron's ability to score the KO diminishes when he's at a styles disadvantage and/or fighting high-caliber opposition, but he can land a finishing bomb that looks great on a highlight reel, which Cotto is less likely to be able to do.
Contrary to most people who believe Cotto is the biggest punching WW, I gotta go with Berto. Oh and Pac is P4P the biggest puncher.
Quintana would be smart enough to control the distance and outpoint him pretty easily, while Mosley would stand and trade and win a brawl.
I dont know that, the fights havent happened. Cintron can box, and i dont think Quintana hits hard enough to discourage him like Margo. Mosley, i dont know. Your assesment may be right on that one.
You're right, we can only go on guesswork based on what we've seen, but I don't think it's a great conjectural stretch to say that Carlos would outbox Kermit. And he wouldn't need to sting him to keep him at bay, just jab and move. It isn't Cintron's nature to come forward nonstop the way Cotto did to totally disable Quintana. Cintron likes to be comfortable in the ring, and guys that sit there and let him get comfortable will be KTFO. Come-forward pressure fighters and slick boxers alike will disrupt his comfort zone, for completely different reasons.
the only guys ive seen disrupt his comfort zone were Margo and Feliciano, one got KTFO, the other KOd him. I havent seen the slick boxer scenario.
When you put it that way, you may have a point. Zuniga, McKart, Zertuche, Miranda, and Taylor all suffered their first KO at the hands of Kelly Pavlik. Miranda can hold his own against Abraham, and Taylor and Zuniga would both beat him. Kind of puts Arthur's highly vaunted punching power in a new light. Boo
Cintron gets KTFO against Quintana, no doubt about it I've got a feeling Quintana's power is underrated, especially that straight left. It looked very solid against Williams early on, who for all his flaws, at least showed a good chin despite the draining It is very difficult to outjab a southpaw, even with Cintron's length. I just see him trying to keep distance to get leverage on the right hand, but for a smart and technically sound counterpuncher its meat and drink. So predictable, he'll pick him off all day long. The openings are going to be there with Cintron's defence, and Quintana has good enough timing to take advantage
Guesswork on my part. :good If we're to read his failures against Margarito as a need to have everything going his way to be effective, we can surmise that someone denying him the range to get off his power punches with lateral movement, and snapping a jab in his face will fluster him just as much as a slew of body punches.
