We know the usual ones Earnie Shavers ect but who was an extremley hard puncher that isn't very well know ?
Depending on how familiar you are with former contenders, Curtis "Hatchetman" Sheppard from the 1940s was supposed to be a ridiculously hard puncher.
Vic Patrick. He was the Australian Lightweight/Welterweight champion in the 1940's and ruled those two divisions in an extremely good era for Australian boxing. The war and the fact he was a massive draw prevented him from competing overseas (where he would've made a splash imo) and he eventually had his world title aspirations beaten out of him by the awesome American fighter Freddie Dawson in a give and take war that ranks amongst the best fights fought on Australian soil. Vic was no stylist but his awkwardness worked for him and his left hand (Vic was a southpaw) was enormous and levelled many a top line fighter and was crucial to his success. http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=26390&cat=boxer
This board has been reduced to a bunch of "Power Queens", a fetishistic sort who proclaims great ability upon a mostly inferior few who exhibit but one dimension of the sport of boxing. Carry on, my Queens.
Nasty And Seamus shut up. You know Paulie Malignaggi is the coolest and why's that?! Because of his power of course.
