You must mean Hearns might have the hardest righ relative to his division, not in absolute terms as the sentence I assume accidentally indicates Flash?

Sam Langford who fought at the weight ..

Possibly Hurricane Carter and Graziano who were small middleweights ..

Tito Trinidad who carried monster two handed power from 147 up to 160 and destroy two careers , Vargas and Reid, on the way up . I was at the Garden ringside watching Tito destroy William Joppy and could not believe the power of his shots ..

I'm shocked by the McCallum pick.

Langford hadn't grown into his power by then.

I'm not buying that Mugabi hit harder than Tito.

    Based on?

    Going ten with James Green?

Or only KOing one ranked fighter, and it by ankle sprainage.

Making Marvellous Marvin Hagler rethink and change strategy is a good mark. He hit as hard as Hearns by admission of Hagler. Do you think Tito hit harder then Hearns? That's a fair debate. I don't think there is much between any of them, not enough to matter anyway.

Yeah, Mugabi is another one of these guys who is randomly anointed a massive puncher despite achieving zero feats of punching power. Maybe not quite random, that's unfair, lots of guys were impressed with his hitting who fought him, but he's another Lyle, really.

I disagree .. he fought Johnson in 06 , weighed 155 and Johnson for the rest of his career openly said no one hit like Langford ..

I was at Trinidad-Joppy, as well. Tito looked unstoppable. And, the pro-Trinidad crowd was amazing. Totally off the hook.

I don't know maybe another consideration just based on number of KOs Yori Boy Campas? 82 KOs in 107 wins won the IBF 154 title via KO and KOd all 3 of his challengers. Definitely not the hardest, but up there? He just almost always got beaten when he fought the top guys, but he's not a journeyman either.

Mugabi was a MASSIVE puncher. Curtis Parker was tough as nails and John was the first-ever to stop him.
He ran over Fletcher who was tough.
He took out alot of fighters who were very good in brutal ways.
His mistake is he should have stayed put at 154.
But he gave Hagler a rough fight and not many can claim that period of time.
Not to mention the great Hagler named Mugabi and Hearns as the two best punchers he fought.
