Who do you think were the biggest hitters at super middleweight? Nigel Benn was the first that came to mind.

Well, if we could pick small LHW then the list could be quite different. Fitzsimmons for example fought a lot within SMW range.

Excellent post! Oganov had scary power as did Echols. I would add Byron Mitchel as well. His right hand was especially dangerous.

I'd say Benn hit harder than most even when weighing 160 so I'd say nigel benn. And he did fight at 168 so it's in the rules

    The answer is Jones. Easily.

Benn didn't have the same power at 168 that he had at 160. Just look at the difference in what they both did to Sugar Boy Malinga.

And with McClellan, we only have the Benn fight to go off. Plus, and I've said this before, McClellan NEVER stopped anybody with a proven chin. Jones stopped a BUNCH of durable guys in his career.

Roy's the only bonafide devastating knockout artist 168 has had.

Roy, to this day, doesn't get enough credit for his power. His handspeed is famous, but his power isn't.

Take a guy like Thomas Tate, who took the best of what Jackson could dish out.

Roy laid him out with one left hook.

McClellan wasn't doing stuff like that.

I was surprised to see that Oganov is still fighting! He is a Cruiserweight now and fighting in Australia. Scary power but not much else at a high level.
