I'm not sure what made me think about this but I was thinking of making this thread. Which boxer would you say has the hardest style to define? Wouldn't necessarily call a boxer Wouldn't necessarily call a slugger Fought differently in big fights Not trying to put a guy like Manny Pacquiao who was a come forward destroyer in his younger days but boxed after slowing down and moving up in weight. More so someone who fought just a unique style in their prime in big fights
Id say pacquiao is a volume punching/slugger hybrid. But he's unique because he bounces in and out constantly. As he got older his ring generalship and technique improved and he became a little more well rounded. His main weaknesses are that he lacks a true inside game which is ironic for a volume puncher. As a result he has to constantly reset once he does get inside if the flurries dont land otherwise he will simply slug it out or get tangled up in a clinch. He also always had trouble with cagey movers/outside fighters. I'm having a hard time describing Errol Spence's style. At first i wanted to say "boxer-puncher" but what he showed against mikey was just downright amazing. He's a complete package. The only flaw ive seen is a lack of head movement but he has decent defense when he's focused.

Would Andre Ward qualify? He seemed to fight differently and at times was dirty. Underrated in strength.
Marvin Hagler. He was everything really. Highly educated boxing skills, footwork, defense was tight yet he was a hitter too. He could do anything it took to win on a particular evening.
