https://www.southbendtribune.com/sp...cle_27b93afe-e0a6-58f6-af99-34d2652a8499.html He's doing well. Nice to see. He seemed like a class act. In his prime, he held down a job at a body shop and trained at night. His loss to Roger Mayweather for the WBC Super Lightweight title was razor close. He had a lot of losses early but improved and eventually became a bona fide contender.
loved brazier. his fights with Kevin pompey were classics. too bad he never got to face my all time favorite buck Smith...…….that would have been pure violence!!!!!!!!!!
They were in the ring together three times. Twice in 1992 for 6 rounds, and in 1990 for 15 rounds. All three were no decisions; I think they may have been exhibitions?
yes, they were exhebitions. too bad they never got it on for real. would have been one hell of a tv fight!!
Brazier was much better than Buck Smith, though. Brazier was underrated in his prime. Two decision losses in world title fights to legit Champions Mayweather and Coggi, and decision losses to Meldrick Taylor and Pernell Whitaker. His prime was at 140 lbs and he was past prime when he fought Pompey
Glad to see he's apparently doing well. I wonder how a fight between him and Stevie Johnston would have turned out prime for prime. Brazier would have had the edge in size, while Johnston was slightly more talented and also extremely crafty.
Excellent peice. Glad to hear. Always looked forward to Tuesday night fights when Harold was on the card. A true professional who always came to win. Class act. I'm happy for him.
