It's a nice clash between a tidy textbook fighter (Johnson) and an unorthodox, herky jerky stylist (Spinks). Spinks has a more versatile game and power that will help him prevail over Johnson IMO.
I love Johnson but I think this is a terrible style matchup for him. Most of the times Ive seen him hurt, dropped, or stopped came as the result of a right hand. He just seemed at times to be open to it stylistically. Thats a bad BAD thing going against Spinks at 175.
It would be one of the great boxing matches in history. I have nothing interesting to say about it, because I've never seen either of them fight. But that has never stopped me before. And it won't today.
Bump. I see Spinks lining him up for the right hand at some point over Johnson’s jab, they say you can jab with a jabber, but not when that jabber also has a devastating right hand and a longer reach, he gonna jab with you, then when the smaller guy jabs, he’ll jab with you at the same time, then follow it up with a huge right like Lewis against Ruddock. Spinks Jinxes him mid-late rounds.
