Roy via decision, could be a somewhat lackluster fight style wise with neither guy risking a lot.

Johnson holds his own early but Roy’s speed and power takes a toll on him and eventually gets stopped in the late rounds.

I don't know, Johnson was only stopped by Joe Walcott and Archie Moore in the 14th round ,who he'd earlier beat, and by a guy named Jacobs in his last fight in a 88 fight career. Roy was starched by Tarver and Glen Johnson, we won't mention his numerous later ko losses.
    Best wins: Johnson
    Bert Lytell
    Arturo Godoy
    Archie Moore
    Nino Valdes
    Ezzard Charles
    Bob Satterfield
    Bert Whitehurst
    Eddie Machen
    Doug Jones

    Jones best wins:
    Hopkins
    Toney
    McCallum
    Trinidad
    Virgil Hill
    Reggie Johnson
    John Ruiz

Roy might out point Johnson but I doubt he'd stop him , and I'm not at all convinced he'd beat him.
Roy wasn't all that at 175 lbs.

he was also KO'd by Billy Smith in his next fight after the Moore KO & also under mysterious circumstances by Julio Mederos.

It's very possible that Jones had the right blend of speed, feinting, reflexes, trapsetting, counter sharpshooting etc along with his intuitive sense of ring generalship and seemingly unorthodox but deceptively correct defensive positioning to throw off Johnson's very technically correct and textbook box-punching methods.

I'm not sure though. Johnson was better than the versions of Toney and Hopkins that Roy faced and would be by far the most seasoned and complete fighter he'd ever come up against.
