I think its about even. You can make an argument both ways.

This would be epic battle of jabs. I can't pick a winner here, although I'd probably go slightly on Tommy side.

Pretty even. Harold Johnson losing to 38 yr old Moore may hurt a bit.
But Loughran does not have a signature win at LHW aside from Greb

    Overall, Loughran had better career.

I've tended to rate Loughran slightly higher at 175, mostly due to his better title reign (7-0 in world title fights). I think usually I've had Loughran something like #7 or #8 at Light-Heavyweight, with Johnson two or three spots behind. I tend to put a stronger emphasis on results in title fights (within reason - obviously there's no way I'm going to deduct Ezz any points at 175 just because he was never given a title shot), but that might be a bit unfair on Johnson in terms of this direct comparison, given he might well have had another shot at Moore for the title if he hadn't served that suspension, and that he was already past his peak by the time he won the championship.

Outside of the title scene, I think I slightly prefer the names on Johnson's record over Loughran's, but there's not all that much in it, especially if we consider that he got Charles at a time when Ezz was just starting to move on his way down, whereas Johnson was on his way up. In terms of a match-up, based on styles I'd take Johnson to beat Loughran, and I could watch Johnson all day. But at 175 I've usually given Loughran a narrow edge - though this has made me think I should perhaps reconsider.....

Also close between them as pound for pounders. Both racked up some pretty handy wins against good Heavyweights while giving away weight, sometimes up to 25 lb in Johnson's case. I'll say Loughran for now but it's one I'm going to come back to.

Tommy beat LHWs and HWs imo. Yeah Harold beat both Moore and Charles who are both top 10 P4P, but Charles was clearly past his best and it's clear Moore was the better man. Tommy has much more depth in his résumé at both weights imo, with the better title reign.

I think Loughran has a better chin, jab and defence, but Harold has better footwork and loos more appealing. He's also probably quicker. I like Loughran on a split.

The narrative on Tommy Loughran is what separates them.
Without Greb in Loughran's resume, they are even.
