Ok, so Paul Williams did not dominate the way many thought that he would, but he put on a hell of a performance. It was a close fight that deserves a rematch and I believe we will actually get it because it's a fight HBO wants again. However, Lederman had it right 115 - 113. William had it tied up going into the 11th and out worked Martinez the last two rounds. He finished the fight stronger and landed more punches overall. Martinez is an awesome fighter and put a hurtin' on PW tonight and he certainly deserves the rematch. I personally would have been satisfied with a draw. Great fight, let's not let the french judge mess it up, Williams did enough.

Could've easily, easily gone either way. Fight of the year as far as I'm concerned.

Some of the rounds Lederman had for Williams were not even close! At least Julie Lederman had it a draw, but Martinez was the clear winner.

Pierre Benoist, was he on Williams' pay list?

Could've gone either way. I agreed with Lederman tonite....I usually don't....... I wouldn't have complained if it had been a draw or if Martinez had won. It was as close a fight as you could ask for. Unfortunately, 119-110 takes the attention that should be focused on the combatants.

I had it 114-114. Final connect percentages were pretty damn close although Williams needed to throw much much more than Martinez to land the same amount Martinez did since the Argentines defensive agility was really making PW look bad. That's gotta be worth something. It was clear though that Martinez was tiring more than PW as the fight was closing.

I had it 115-113 martinez...but harold's card was solid too....to quote lederman " I gotta tell ya somethin'"....I usually agree with most of his scorecards.....ESB seems to disagree with a lot of lederman scorecards....

Lederman was for the HBO fighter.

Pierre Benoist was a real fan of Williams.

No he didn't. Harold almost never gets it right. Mother****er had Williams winning the 1st Quintana fight as well. :nut Aggression, no matter how ineffective, always impresssed that blind old bag of ****.

Martinez won that going away in my book by the same margin I had Quintana winning.... 8 rounds to 4.

seems to me all the people that watched the fight with the biased hbo commentators had this close or gave it to williams try watching with unbiased commentary or sound off then tell me that wasn't 8 rounds to 4 to martinez.

Exactly! ****ing commentary ALWAYS sways the opinions of casual fans who don't understand how to properly score a fight.

Martinez should have gotten the nod no doubt about it.

lederman does have a bias towards pure boxers, with the exception of mayweather, he hates floyd......

I'm noticing as of late harold scorecards tend to favor more of the "boxer", especially if its against a pressure fighter...

That being said, I do think it is harder these days for a pure boxer to get a decision against a brute force brawler....not saying williams-martinez falls under this category but this is the pattern i'm seeing...

I'm sorry man, but I don't agree with your assesment of Harold Ledderman at all. As long as I've been watching that clown score fights the man has always favored the aggressor. Don't know which fights you've been watching.

The commentators are there to tell the fans who is winning the fight, that is their fighter! Martinez clearly won the fight.

Remember when Dirrell fans claimed that aggression was not the way to win?

They were definitely hugging some nuts, but I saw a more agressive PW landing more punches. No way it was 8-4
I have to disagree, Paul landed more punches, threw more punches, and was pushing the fight. Martinez countered very well and landed clean, hard shots but so did PW. Martinez gave up several rounds because he was tired and couldn't keep his work rate up like PW. You guys gotta give it up for PW, he was getting his ass kicked and just kept coming.
