I didn't hear much clamor for either of these fights during the seventies, not in print from any of the boxing mag's of the time, nor much noice from promoters wanting the fights.

Duran-Arguello at 135 is THE unfought fight of the 70s.

Monzon/Foster, Monzon knew his place, and that an ass whupping was coming if he went to light heavyweight.Duran/Cervantes, not sure, but I think Cervantes had a good chance to upset Duran, though Duran probably would have won.

I really don't see it being too competitive though, and I love Arguello. Love him to bits. There were a lot of people saying that the only man around at the time that could have beat a Lightweight Duran was Arguello but I just don't see it.

Pipino Cuevas versus Carlos Palomino. together they wiped out an entire division. yet they did not meet? Carlos Zarate-Alfonso Zamora for the undisputed bantamweight Championship. It was a shame that this was a non-title fight. (actually a travesty). Ken Norton-Joe Frazier, I know they were friends, but would have been a classic.

I would have loved to have seen George Foreman vs Larry Holmes. Unfortunately, Holmes was just getting well-known and coming into the big fights by late 1977. Foreman, of course, had been upset by Jimmy Young In March of 77' and retired for ten years as everyone well knows.

Considering how extensively Duran dominated him in the first fight, I don't know if a rematch is that well-warranted.

Scratch Pryor, he didn't have a title in the 70's. Some goodies tho.

Edit - Scratch Arguello - Sanchez too.
