im sure he's respected. and i like him as a judge.. but it always seems to me his score card is off from the 3 judges at ringside. i wonder why that may be the case..
I wonder the same thing sometime, but even the 3 "official" judges seem to sometimes be way off from each other too. I'd just have to figure that they all have different preferences. Lederman may see a mobile fighter that may move around a lot and think of it as running while another judge may view the other fighter as a pressure fighter and controlling all the action. But who knows. But hey, he gets paid for what we all do at home.
Lederman states his preferences loudly. Move around a lot. Throw some punches, whether it lands or not is indifferent. Move and swing and you got his point.
He should have had Oscar beating Mayweather like the one judge did then, if that's his criteria. I think whoever lands more clean punches, wins. Pretty simple. But body punches can confuse the issue a bit I suppose.
Honestly, he's a nice, spirited old man they keep on as an icon. His score card might as well be a coloring book.
To hell with him, Ive looooong grown tired of his down right corrupt cards. I used to give him the benefit of the doubt, then I realised hes just as bad as any bought judge.
I often find myself having the same RBR scores as lederman... inarguably, he sometimes is as corrupt as they come.
I think you guys are overstating your case a bit against him. His scorecards are correct and in line with the judges more often than not. Far more often. He scored about 30 fights this year. I defy you to find more than 3 that were more than 2 rounds apart from popular opinion in the boxing community.
