I've always thought Weston get's underrated because he had a lot of bad luck in his career. I have an old copy of the Ring were they scored the first fight with Benitez for Weston by three or four points and he didn't exactly embaress himself in the second bout either. I think he was unlucky to get a draw against Mamby as well. He was doing well against Cuevas until he suffered a broken jaw. So how does he do against Starling? I expect most people will pick Starling, who had some bad luck as well with the draw against Breland and the loss to Blocker. I think it's fair to expect Starling to win but Weston was no cupcake, especially when he was healthy. I think he could have given Hearns some uncomfortable moments in the later rounds if not for the detached retina.
Starling by comfortable decision over Weston......... Starling is borderline great at 147, while Weston was good..... MR.BILL
Harold actually hold a win over Vito Antefermo as i recall, so sometimes luck did go his way, I think it would depend on the frame of mind of Starling, he could be the Coaster - Smoldering along - or the Toaster - Fired up ! in a Bumphus frame of mind, Harold has chances, but iwith a Breland 1st / Honeygan mentality, Marlon would have to be the sound pick, But Harold on form was few peoples easy night.
Marlon would beat Weston unless he's in one of his Curry I modes, then Weston beats him by a close one.
Starling was a great counter-puncher and really shined against sluggers. Boxers were a bit of a problem for Marlon. Not that he couldn't beat them but sometimes it was just by the skin of his teeth. He was laid back and simply fared better if you were coming at him. His water-tight defense couple with his excellent jaw was made to take on bangers. Weston was an outstanding boxer and Marlon would have to ramp up his workrate immensely to stay with Harold. Can't see him doing it. Harold Weston by decision.
