He didn't make the team because his achievements before the competition were not good enough to get him in the team.

Having previously picked Haroon's brother (Amir) for the team, you'd have thought there would be little argument about team GB's capability to judge talent?

Whatever you feel about the Haroon Khan situation, the one lesson that can be drawn from this whole situation is just keep your ****ing mouth shut prior to a fight...Selby must be feeling a right mug this morning

He did not deserve to be in the GB team based on his performances, and ranking.

I do not have a problem with him boxing for Pakistan, because it was his only chance to go to the games.

All of the talk, inbetween is meaningless. Fact is the guy has medalled, and it shows the strength in depth of British boxers at this weight class.

Amateur scoring and judging in these tournaments is notoriously suspicious and incompetent at times. The amateur games needs to look at how they score fights and introduce more consistency. I find it very hard to watch fights in which there is a clear winner, but according to the "scoring" the other guy wins, and this happens far too often!

I'm looking at Amir and Haroon's twitter pages and I have lost respect for the Khan's

    Amir 18 hours ago
GB cheef Rob McCracken: (Harrys win) "dosnt prove anything.".... Well it proves 1 thing bob u can't select a good team. Haha

    Harron 16 hours ago
@amirkingkhan that mcracken or what ever his name is needs pull his finger out never seen this guy but ad love to see him and just abuse him

You are ranked 9th in the UK, you got beat in the quarters of the ABA's, you have not won a single recognised senior tournament and the number 1 British representative has been extremely successful as has the number 2, who cares if you won the Junior ABA's. Pull you're finger out of your arse and stop making out this to be a disgrace when it isn't, well done for beating Selby and getting a meddle that's a great achievement but that is your first success not your fourth or fifth.

How about this from the Guardian " Khan says he intends to box for Pakistan at London 2012 and has even predicted that "the strong community of British Asians are going to take to the street and protest my ousting"" What a stupid comment to make, that's far worse then any of those twitter comments. One of the reasons I liked the Khan's was that they really appeared to be proud Brits and really appeared to try and improve the relations with Muslims and Non Muslims in this country. This whole episode has left me very disappointed as someone who has always supported Khan.
