At lightweight. scott agreed terms at the weekend, Hearn waiting on Ricky signing his contract. Let's see if he has the guts to fight an old rusty Scott Harrison. I predict not as Scott would still knock him out
Interesting to note that your boss has opened talks about the fight though ........ You do work for matchroom right?
Moog, Crawford couldn't KO him, Beltran couldn't KO him with a broken jaw and Zlaticanin's KD 'should' have KO'd him but it didn't. What makes you think Scott would KO him out of curiosity? Or can I guess his relentless body shots? Ricky boxes Scott's head off for me. He jabs his way to a stoppage with Scott's both eyes fully closed as he has zero head movement.
Eddie could only dream of having an employer like me. He couldn't afford me. This fight is a joke. It's pointless and I fail to see how it can happen if Burns is going up in weight?
The fight will sell out easily therefore one thing makes it NOT pointless where all 3 are concerned (both boxers and promoter) and that's CASH. Plus it will also mean another home show for our local fighters to get some action, Brophy, Simmons, Simpson etc
I'm at work making millions, I can't afford to double check my posts. :yep Maybe I can hire you for that? I like to give back to the less fortunate.
Right on both points there mate, money talks and that is why the Harrison vs Burns fight will happen. It won't matter anywhere else except Scotland but it will sell very well at any arena in the Glasgow area. You have also got to remember that SKY can transform a normal fight to the hardcore fans into a massive fight for the casual fans. There will be so much spin 'the fight to prove best ever Scottish Fighter' , 'Scotlands 2 most successful World Champions facing off in a mega fight' etc I think SKY would work that angle to death and get the hype crazy. Most hardcore fans might not care but the casual fan will lap them up!! As for getting other fighters on the bill this could be the most important thing, we will never be able to continue with TV shows if Ricky decides to retire so it is important to try build the profile of other Scottish fighters. Stevie Simmons is the next one Alex has close to fighting for titles and imo he should start getting pushed and his profile raised so he can try be the next person to fly the flag for Scotland. One thing I would like to see is Eddie looking at getting other Scottish fighters maybe not just Alex Morrison fighters for these shows because you limit yourself by only working with 1 promoter in Scotland and he might find there are other exciting fighters he could be using on these bills that sell good tickets or are ready to step up. Iain Butcher would be one i would like to see on SKY and getting his profile raised, at that weight he could easily be fighting for Euro titles and even world honours in the next couple of years.
Burns is going to fight an ageing ex champ who is much smaller , Harrison needs the payday and burns needs a name cherry-pick . I can't see Harrison winning but taking a bit if a beating bravely . I'd love Harrison to pull off a shock victory
