AUDLEY MAKES US LAUGH Audley gives more details on sparring session with David Haye in 2006. I wanted to give some more details about my sparring session with David Haye and why I say he took liberties in trying to blast me out. After my first lost to Danny Williams, my confidence was low and I went to Miami to hook up with Lennox and try to get my mojo back. I was with my training team and had just signed to fight Dominic Guinn for April 14th. It was early March and we were running along the beach in the morning and we bump into David who was training there and was also running. We talked and as David was nearing the end of camp for his fight back in London, we agreed to speak later as we didn't want cool down. Bear in mind, I hadnt done any boxing specific training since December and I was really looking to get my fire back and utilise the advice of Lennox. I believe it was 2 weeks later when Lennox told me he was leaving town and wanted to see me spar before he left town. We arranged for a novice pro who was in the gym to move around with me and we set it up for that evening. David called and asked what I was up to and I told him what was planned for that evening. David had never come to my gym before while we were there, he trained elsewhere. He gave no indication that he wished to come to the spar, so I never expected him and Adam to turn up and ask to spar. Regardless, I said no problems as I thought it would be good for Lennox to have a look at him (as far as Im aware, David nor his side kick Adam had met Lennox before this day). I did 3 rounds with the novice and then David stepped in. I noticed he was jumping up and down and looking really animated. It was 2 weeks away from his fight and he was at the end of his camp. Round 1: David came out throwing combinations, 3 and 4 at a time; I was so slow, I couldnt even keep up with him. Wave after wave of punches came my way; he wasnt holding back. I kept my guard tight and looked for an opening but couldnt get off. The onslaught continued for 3 rounds and I hardly landed a shot on him. My team looked at me like what the f..k was that about?. Was I embarrassed? HELL YES! Lennox said not to worry, as it was my first spar and that Ill get better. Unfortunately, this set the mood for camp and I never got off first base. So thats another reason why I want to get David in the ring, as I believe his actions on that day impacted my whole training camp and I boxed Dominic Guinn still low on confidence. I will say this, David has never hurt me all the many times we have boxed; I dont think he can say the same. In Rocky 3, Apollo Creed helps Rocky gets back his mojo and does what true friends do and helps him re build his confidence. I got there in the end by myself, but I should have seen David for what he was then. If you really look at Davids set up, it has got A Force written all over it. I have given David so much and have wanted nothing in return. The student may be the star today, but he has forgotten who his master was on his way up. Well, like in Rocky 5, the old master still has some game, so if you and WLAD do not happen, Im here and waiting. A FARCE
Sorry just created another thread about this.... I feel sorry for Aud... he's got real issues with regards to his mental approach. I can identify with what he's saying but you don't expect that from an olympic gold medalist. Testimony to his talent that he progressed that far with such a horrible attitude. I'd like the fight to happen big time.
I disagree with the majority of opinions on here, I think Audley vs Haye makes sense because the casual fan would definetly cash in to see either Haye get sparked cold or Audley get sparked silly, or even for Audley to cause the upset because lets face it David Haye would be the favourite but Audley has the size and he is a natural heavyweight so it would make sense to see if Haye can take Audley out impressively and then maybe go on to fight a Klitschko. Audley would be seen as a tune up fight LOL

Audley Harrison is being honest but chatting such shite. David Haye lost him his next fight and ruined his whole camp! All I gather from what he wrote is how weak mentally he is. The same mentality that sees him lose fights he can win.
He is showing a very fragile mentality but that sparring session must have highlighted the fact that the Pro game is not for him. Could he not have stayed an amateur for the rest of his career?
I notice that Audley hasn't mentioned what got said straight AFTER the sparring session. Saying that I bet it wasn't much, I remember as a kid crying that much I couldn't get my words out. I can picture him blubbering now as Lennox hangs his head in shame. What's he going to blame when he has 12 rounds (or alot less) of those combinations coming at him? As I haven't saw Audley with 'his fire' in tow, well....errrrrr...EVER. ****, he might blame us lot. Here's hoping.
Audley doesn't deserve this fight, but it's intriguing nonetheless. I wonder if Booth is on the boxing hour tomo or whether they can get David on the phone.
Yes they need to get Hayes view on this. The fight would be a big draw in this country for obvious reasons
Yeah i agree with the majority of opinions here on this one. does audley deserve the fight? nope. would he win? nope. would i watch it? yep haha. haye would force a stoppage within 3 rounds. audleys just a waster as a pro, always has been. his only notable win in my eyes was when he stopped danny williams, and i was proper shocked at that. i cant see haye being interested. its just sour grapes on audleys part over haye not putting him on the card, and why should he? mates nothing, the guys ****. its like when hamed used to badger warren to put johnny nelson on his undercards. one boring fight can put a dampner on the whole show, so why bother. we want good, exciting fights right? its right, audreys just looking for one more payday. or does he really believe he can pull off an upset? he'd be the only one to believe it.
