None has any input on this matchup? Anyway, my prediction is Corrales knocks out Arroyo in about 6 rounds after possibly getting dropped himself early.
A very good primetime fight on paper if there ever was one, Diego "Chico" Corrales vs Harry "O" Arroyo at their absolute best. Harry Arroyo, the IBF's second ever world lightweight champion coming from the same neighborhood as his at the time WBA lightweight counterpart Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, had some pretty decent victories along the way like his ten round decision victory over a still very good and dangerous Robin Blake, albeit right after Blake's decision loss to Tyrone Crawley, which was followed by impressive and dramatic knockout victories over Charlie "Choo Choo" Brown, Charlie "White Lightning" Brown and Terrence Alli before it all came crashing down with the 15-round decision loss to Jimmy Paul. And of course what's there not to say about Diego Corrales resume that's not good, and even after the gutsy lopsided knockout loss to Floyd "Money" Mayweather there was some very compelling and memeorable fights to judge him on from the first Jose Luis Castillo knockout to the first two of three fight against Joel Cassamayor, Acelino Freitas and the subsequent knockout victories over Angel Manfredy, Derrick "Smoke" Gainer John Brown and Roberto Garcia. Corrales at his best most certainly. My personal end result for this one would be Corrales by a dramatic come from behind 10th or 11th round knockout over a highly determined but stylistically outclassed Arroyo. This fight would've certainly made for some good neilsen ratings numbers for premium primetime; HBO or Showtime with either network selling the rebroadcasting rights to either ABC, CBS or NBC a few weeks later just like they use to do back in the day.
I think Corrales would stop him. On an unrelated note, does anyone know if Harry is related to Hector Arroyo, a guy who fought and got stopped by Floyd Mayweather, shortly before Mayweather beat Genaro Hernandez?
