Compton’s Greb book really covered so much that’s I admire anyone even trying to write something after that. Very detailed, thoroughly researched. If you’ve not read on Greb then that’s the starting point IMO. I won’t dismiss other books though. It’s always good to read from multiple angles of the subject fascinates you.

Springs Toledo’s last release was Smokestack Lightning was an awesome read too. Probably my favorite book of the last couple years.

If an editor picked such a title, he or she isn't knowledgeable about the history of American sports.

Well I would not compare McGrain Kellerman or Atlas on the history of boxing. Sugar RIP was a fanstaic story teller and medicore historian.

No. It's horrible. Charles is #1 and nothing else is acceptable or understandable.

When he's not busy playing HBO hypeman, Kellerman really knows his stuff.

Yeah, I don't know how I feel about #6 being above #10 though.

I have mixed feelings about heavyweights being included on p4p lists.Similarly if a fighter only competed at one weight ,however dominant he was, should he be favoured over a guy who fought at more than one and was
successful ? I'm thinking maybe a case should be made for Pacquiao who consistently went up in weight and won?
