So you’ve read the book this thread is about? Because if so, why don’t you give us a review. If not, you’re telling people on this thread about a specific book ‘don’t guy that, get the other one.’

Others have pointed out, contrary to your opinion, that the book you like doesn’t give us much of a picture of who Greb was as a person. That being the case, the others would help complete the picture.

What you posted went far further than, ‘Hey, I suggest this one, it’s the best one I read.’ It said, in effect, ‘don’t bother with any of the others, buy this one.’ Which is what I accused you of, which is what you did.

Most Pittsburghians do. Tri-sport Championship city; Steelers. Pirates. Penguins. Blue collar ALL the way. At the convergence of three rivers. AND i bet most Pittsburghers today never heard of Harry Greb.

At least in Cincinnati you have Ezzard Charles Drive near downtown. Is there a street in Ptown named for Greb I wonder.

Btw, if you ever want to read a great article on Harry, get the November 1973 issue of The Ring Magazine. Worth the pittance paid to read it.

I heard a rumor that Art Rooney, ( Born 1901, Died 1988 ) founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers once saw a Greb film decades after the fight had taken place. Rooney himself was an amateur boxing champion, likely active when Greb was. This is plausible. Has any Greb author reached out to the Rooney family regarding Harry Greb? If there is a Greb film stored away, this might be the family that has it.

Its all speculation for here but I would not put it past a collector to keep such a find a secret.

Because Greb died so young and there is no film of him, he's largely a forgotten man in his home town. The natives of Pittsburgh love their sports teams. I think had Greb lived, or if there were at least two films on him, the sports fans in the city would know who he is.

You're the guy who told us he had friends who had seen Greb fighting on film, but you went quiet when Klompton called you a liar and challenged you to prove it,its a recurring pattern with you.
