I know Greb was a elite but I don't have anywhere near the knowledge the debate extensively on his career as many do here so I can't comment on that I see discussions about Greb as a way I can learn more about his career and boxing then in general. As for Wilder occasionally you do get his defenders but generally Wilder is seen as dangerous but limited fighter.
If you don’t mind, I’ll echo that this is a top post. Slight tangent or perhaps not, but your focus on the reality of who actually got the better of who struck a chord with me. Re such focus, In particular, I would highlight Johnson vs Hart. Marvin got the nod as per the ref and sole judge, Greggains. Now people can pivot their perceptions and arguments on the official decision - but by most, if not all accounts, the detailed, RBR descriptions of the fight basically point to Johnson as the clear winner, imo. Johnson’s only apparent “mistake” was that he didn’t mindlessly bore in, aggressively grunting and groaning as he did so. Instead, he let Hart charge in, counter punching Marvin’s head off in the process, rendering him a bloody pulp at fight’s end. Of all his filmed fights, Johnson’s rematch vs Flynn would probably most closely approximates to written descriptions of his fight vs Hart. Just my tangential 2 cents worth.
