My files are in storage right now so I cant refer to them but Greb regularly fought men who outweighed him by 20 pounds and on occasion fought men who outweighed him from between 30 and 40 pounds. Joe Cox weighed about 35 more than Greb and Al Benedict weighed 37. Neither of these guys were great fighters when Greb met them but that is a massive size disparity that could easily tip betting odds in one direction.

Boxrec has a lot of errors in the weights for Greb just looking over it. Soldier Buck never weighed 190, some of the higher weights they have for Greb are either misprints or in some occasions the papers clearly state that Greb weighed in fully clothed. In winter time in the 1910s and 1920s with materials clothing weighed back in those days you are talking about a considerable amount of extra weight. This was the case with Tommy Robson where Greb thought that he didnt have to weigh in and was literally forced to weigh in by the local commission who came and got him while he was eating a big steak dinner, angry, Greb hopped on the scales in full winter dress and shoes to placate the commission. This accounts for his unusually high weight.

It would make sense in some ways if Greb did see Fulton as the biggest threat of the heavyweights because he has fast hands, boxing skill, movment and a rapier like jab.

Greb did show interst in fighting Harry Wills because the fight was likley to get him a title match.

As for Firpo, Morris etc he would have fought them for practice.
