Greb gets given a decent chance of upsetting Dempsey by some here,so I've matched him with three other come forward bangers. How does he fare?
Langford by KO or Greb on points. They'd probably fight lots of times and the results would go back and forth. He'd make Marciano look bad but Rocky would get to him in the end. Tyson would walk through him.
I don't think Dempsey would walk through him. You'd have to favour Dempsey but Greb would be a live underdog.
It says a lot about Harry Greb's ability, when he has a thread on ESB fighting a Marciano, Langford, and Mike Tyson ALL much bigger and in different weight classes than Lil Ole Harry... If perchance Greb fought and beat the prime Dempsey { I love Greb but strongly doubt it], he would have put on a drubbing on Marciano who was half as fast and agile as Dempsey was. As far as Langford goes, Nat Fleischer who saw them all ringside and raved about Langford claimed that Langford would never "catch up to Harry Greb to ko him". For what it's worth... One more thing. When Rocky Marciano was champion , a poll of veteran boxing people was asked "who would have won between Jack Dempsey in prime and Rocky Marciano " ? Almost to a man they all chose Jack Dempsey, as do I. Speed kills in boxing, I have learned lo these many years, everything being equal...
