The reason for this match up is that Greb is rated just outside of the top ten light heavyweights in history. How would he handle the strong, hard punching Muhammad? 15 rounds at lightheavyweight. Who and why?
I honestly dont know how this fight would go, i mean besides gene tunney, you would think saad would beat most of those light heavyweights from the 1920s. In general, saad usually gets ranked anywhere between 8-15 on all time lists. You can look on paper and say greb would win, but this fight can go either way.
BIG DEE HERE= It would be a slaughter as Greb was to fast to good and would take the best punch that Muhammad could throw. Greb would overwhelm Saad cutting him to pieces and stopping him on cuts in 8 rds. Saad never fought a guy like Greb who doesn`t stand in one place long enough to hit cleanly. Greb would just be too damn fast for Saad and I always liked Saad as he always gave 120% in the ring but in this case he is just outclassed. If you think Qawi gave him a beating this would be worse as he`s fighting a guy that kicked the crap out of Heavyweights and enjoyed taking their best punches then kicking the crap out of them.
I see a very hard fight here, given Greb's incredible resume...I don't doubt that Greb would win the early rounds...and yes, cutting Sadd about the eyes with butts, lacing, and multitudes of punches...But if the bout wasn't stopped on cuts, Sadd would have his moments, IMO. I don't really feel Greb's power would have any effect on Sadd...But Sadd would hurt Greb when he connected...But Greb's chin is oneof the best... From what I understand Greb and Kid Norfolk fought two brutal foul fest fights...One of the reports stated that Norfolk cut Greb 'to ribbons'...In another report on their other fight, Greb had him 'floundering out to sea'...I know it is not the wisest path to consider fighters in this way...too many variables. But the point is both fighters were able to find one another in a tough give and take fight(s)... Honestly, I cannot see any great middleweight champions staying with Sadd Muhammad a full fifteen rounds...IMO Sadd would be just too strong, and hit too hard not to eventually catch up to the smaller men. 15 rounds is a long time... I do not know how that would pertain to Greb fighting Sadd...Greb certainly fought boxers would could/would outpoint Sadd in Gibbons,Tunney,Loughran, Norfolk...Wow what a list! It would be a brutal contest...not a cake walk for either...Would Sadd have been the best puncher Greb had faced? I think he would rank right up there. I see a hard fight with Sadd edging it...with size the main factor. IMO just guessing
