Yeah I don't think anyone ever said, "Look !!!, here comes Glass Jaw Harry Greb, br careful not to breathe too hard boys, the wind may shatter his jaw" or something to that effect.
Greb would put a terrible beating on poor Tito. It would have been a crime to have put Trinidad in with one of the roughest , toughest hombres that ever stepped into the squared circle.
No, but Trinidad had a lot of power. I don't know if Greb can handle all of that power. Trinidad did almost stop Camacho and Whitaker so I am inclined to think that he might stop Greb. After all, we barely have any footage of Greb so we don't know how he would do with a style like Trinidad's anyways.
It's all opinion. Don't pretend you're right and I'm wrong. this is h2h and a fight that would never happen in a million years. :finger
I dont like rating guys i havent seen fight. Greb is a special case though. I have seen Tunney and Walker fight and theyre both impressive, and he beat both of them. Add to that he fought 2 million fights, fighting absolutely everybody including the heavyweights and was only stopped once or twice. Himself being a middleweight, its pretty safe to assume he isnt getting stopped by a large Welterweight. I've mocked him in the past but thats mainly just a reaction to the Chaplin brigade's nuthugging. But the fact is theres nothing at all you can really critisize him for, not in any aspect. Nearly 300 fights, fought everybody, was a middleweight that fought heavyweights, didnt draw the colour line, only stopped twice, looked like a gargoyle, obvioulsy wasnt scared of ****, obviously a double hard *******.
Pac's right, always go with the guy who looks like a gargoyle, the scary *******. This content is protected
Greb swarms him from the start and has Trinidad in serious trouble early, and perhaps scores an early knockdown and has Tito hurt. However, Trinidad immediately scores somewhere between 1 and 5 left hooks to the nuts over the next 3 rounds, taking the steam out of Greb's attack just enough to allow Trinidad back into the fight. Greb gets the upper hand again, though, and ultimately wins a clear UD.
We'd see the depth of his skills, for sure. Charging up on Trinidad and trying to maul him is just a horrible idea. Can't see a guy as experienced as Greb being that dumb. He'd adopt a different tack. It'd be very revealing to watch him do it. Can't give Greb an automatic pass, but he's my pick. He clearly had some chin and some toughness, which he'd need at some point or another, and all those wins over all those greats and near-greats shows me that he knew how to win against tons of different, crazy talented looks.
