It is AllenTown Joe Gans but the white guy is not Greb ,it is

Augie Ratner, it's their 1926 fight.

Could it be Allentown Harry Greb ?

    So it's Ratner v Gans, seriously ?

Well, Ranter and Gans fought in 1924 in Madison Square Garden. I thought the fight we were discussing was "obviously" in the 1930s and fought outdoors?

    :patsch:roll:

    I haven't seen the film.
    Ok, I missed the joke.

Still, anyone have a clue who the two boxers are ?

You haven't missed anything ,you are an excellent poster.
In my clumsy way I was trying to illustrate how things can be manipulated to point in whichever direction you choose..:good

    Cool. :good
You're right about that. Misdirection of the old stand-by of con man and trickster.

I think it's probably possible to investigate who these boxers are starting from a starting point of complete ignorance.
It's interesting that this "kurt" fellow seems to have been showing a film that no one else can positively identify.
There's a lot of negative identification going on, but not much else.

I mean, from my point of view, it might even happen to be some fighters MORE interesting than Harry f**king Greb ! :D
I'm quite sick of Greb footage though I've never seen it.

It is quite surprising that we are now approaching the possibility of a surfeit of Greb without ever actually having seen him fight!
    :yep

If you look at the label in a mirror, it's clearly Kid Berg and not Greb.
