Harry Greb

Most guys don't go 45-0 in a career...never mind in a single year!!!

 

He could have been the greatest of all time - it's just so hard to know without having seen his fights. He doesn't make my p4p top 10 for that reason only.

 

Sometimes people who know nothing about boxing, but know a lot about films, talk about early films that were lost due to fire risk.

I have the perfect anecdote:

I say that many knowledgeable people consider Harry Greb to have been the greatest boxer of all time, and that every single him of him fighting has been lost!

 

You guys need to get Stephen Compton's book Live fast, Die young: the Life and Times of Harry Greb. Unbelievably amount of research, hundreds of references to backup the information compiled. Amazing stories not only about Greb but also many of his contemporaries .

 

Does he not have the best resume of all time?
I believe so if u take into account all the news paper decisions favoring him in the no decision bouts.
