    It was a pipe or a watch ,can't remember which now.The original story is Sam Langford, when he first met McVey, went up to him and said," Mr McVey", my Father gave me this pipe/watch, he said ",keep it Sam, until you met a n****r uglier than yourself",I reckon this pipe/watch has been won by you Mr McVey". That's the story.

    Looks like a paving slab with eyes, using another, more broken paving slab as a nose.

    And no, i wouldn't say it to his face, i wouldn't even say it over the phone.

    In my experience boxers are some of the nicest, most approachable "celebrities" Ive come across.

    Hell No. That was his wife, who died soon after, leaving Harry Greb with a young daughter who his sister helped raise...A great, great fighter losing a young wife, and losing an eye, then dying after surgery at the age of 32...
    Life is not fair....

    Does he have relatives that are around or known? He lived in garfield from what i remember. My grandma lives about five minutes from there
