Harry Simon. How would his career have been if not for him going to prison?

Would he be rated a lot higher? Would he be seen as a great fighter or just good? Remember, this guy beat Winky Wright in a close fight in only his 17th fight.

great fighter, thought he could of made it big. would of been blown out the water by the best but his strength. defense and very good solid technical skills could definitely give a lot some real thought

He probably would have had one or two more good wins before someone would have figured out his style and beaten him. Never was that impressed with him despite the win over Winky.

He didn't beat Wright . And Wright was his only notable opponent as far as I recall without using boxrec again .

The win against Wright was close, close, close. You could argue undeserved.

That shows his class. He won over close against a future champ who had yet to hit his stride.

He'd have done something, but he wouldn't have ascended to Wright's status.

:huh well he did....close it may be but it was winkys lack of workrate while simon pot shotted then swarmed with bodyshots. then winky picked up the pace landed some good jabs and some crisp 1-2's but simon moved more and through the rounds wright tried to go for him simon used his jab to get back at him.

to be honest though winky wasnt the winky we know him as. he was still pretty bouncey and more of a mover who could pressure he wasnt the moving wall that we consider him.

wayne alexander, cherifi, leushing, young wright. not great but world level fighters

leushing was a good amatuer had soem great domestic fights and knockeddown trinidad, cherifi.......well i dont know how that guy gets ranked im not sure but world contender status, alexander was considered the hardest puncher in britain p4p.

No wonder I could not recall then :yep and I hope I will continue 2 not recall in d future (regarding this question) .

U know who beat Wright ? Julio Cesar Vasquez did . I watched d fight and Simon did not beat him , and like most cases when I write this , I also don't mean that Wright beat Simon either .
What is d big shame in scoring a fight a draw ? that it does not fit d gamblers ? fights like this should b scored as draws .

I never saw the Winky fight, saw a few others and he was a real pro who could take away his opponents and then counter them to the head or body with combinations, in a way a poor man's McCallum. He had allot going for him and would have made a good challenger to Hopkins

If Harry Simon did not have that destructive nature and erratic behaviour that put him in prison, I suspect he would not of been half the fighter he once was.

:lol:ok didnt clock what that meant, he was a guy fighting while i was growing up he was on tv and had some threat to him. he was good. when i meant great. i meant great like "great to see you" not "he was GREAT"

but 160 was pretty tough group to be on top, early 2000's was trinidad, hopkins, joppy and holmes. could of beat holmes, joppy might be too good technically and is strong enough not to get bullied. trinidad and hopkins are same but more so. jermain taylor is around and could of been outhustled, sturm is young and inexpereicned but was able to clown delahoya a year or 2 later. and vargas has balooned up a bit could of been tasty undercarded event, even a fight with ike quartey.

he could of been in the mix. and could of come out of it well enough.
