    Anyone know anything about him?

African fighter who beat Ronald Wright. Seemingly retired, undefeated.

Came back for a fight last year and won it and dissapeared again.

he was a real good fighter. i saw the winky wright - harry simon fight on boxing classics and it was amazing how a very typical box and block winky was getting out manouvered and bullied by simon.

he was a pressure fighter with a good jab and pretty decent foot work. he had alot of power. kinda like ike quartey with just less technique and not as quick. but he was a real destroyer. they say he was 5'10 he was more like 5'8 he just had huge back muscles and shoulders which made him so heavy.

he was pretty much feared by most of the light middles after he beat winky and was not in a position to make a deal becuase he only owned the wbo (which at the time wasnt as prestigous as it is now) so not many people coudl be bothered to fight him. he though would fight anybody anytime he is one of tose guys who was just so caught up in his own arrogance and ego that he didnt care about who he fought.

i thikn he had a deal with campas but campas lost to some yougn upstart called vargas so that deal was pulled out.
adrian dodson was also called up and mullings.

but in the end his career seemed to be calling out all the elite's. which made him kinda lose his credability. a bit like herbie hide he would say he was the best in the division but fought no one of note to prove it.

good fighter had all the trimmingsbut just didnt have the mangering backing or the fan support.he went up in wieght just becuase he couldnt be ****ed and that he almost got koed by wayne alexander. he called out hopkins and delahoya but there was no point fighting him too much risk and way not enough reward.

then his career looked to be on the rocks when he had a crash in 2002 which killed a whole family. he also had anothe road incident which 2 people were also killed. put into jail for 2 years for manslaughter.

got out and looked terrible in his return.

good fighter a bit of a 'what if'

here is a good and comical interview with esb and simon

And unfortunatly he was drunk on both occations, so for me he can rot in prison. A pity, as he was a great fighter. He even fought here in Denmark.

Weird how he's actually a two weight champion and he's unbelievably unknown.

This was out of Boxrec. I never saw the fight, but had heard it was a robbery.

The three WBO judges decided that it was a majority draw, which meant that Wright had retained his title.
    - A few minutes later, while Wright was sitting in his dressing room unwrapping his hands, an official came in to tell him that there had been an error in the scoring, he had lost by a majority decision. Then they released the new scoring: Erasmus 117-113 for Simon, Lederman 115-113 for Simon, Palomo 114-114 draw.
    - No one explained how there had to be at least a three-point swing in one of the judge's scoring to change the decision.

An excellent fighter (he did beat Winky IMO) but a scumbag of a person, should still be doing time.
